Yes, the 1991 1/2 to 1993 crankshaft can be retrofitted to an early Miata. The crankshaft, pulley bolt, cam sprocket, front seal, pulley, spacer, and oil pump must be replaced as a set. I am not sure about the front cover. At least we know the engine block was not changed for the entire life of the Miata 1.6 liter.
